How we work

Editorial Standards

These standards explain how Anna News researches, writes, labels and updates source-led news explainers.

Accuracy and source hierarchy

Anna News prefers primary sources such as official documents, regulators, recognised statistics, company statements, court or legislative records and direct project documentation. Independent reporting is used to add context, test claims and identify areas where a source has an interest in the outcome.

A source being official does not make every claim independently verified. Company benchmarks, project dashboards and promotional statements are identified as claims from their publisher. Material facts should be supported by citations that readers can follow.

Headlines, updates and uncertainty

Headlines should accurately reflect the article and should not promise certainty that the evidence does not support. Live scores, prices, participation counts and other changing figures should include a time or date. Forecasts and scenarios must be distinguished from observed facts.

An article may be updated when new information becomes available. Material corrections should be noted under the Corrections Policy; routine spelling, formatting or link repairs may be made without a separate correction note.

AI-assisted work and images

Automation and generative systems may assist topic research, document organisation, drafting, translation, metadata, quality checks or illustration. They do not replace source verification. The Anna News Desk remains responsible for the published result.

Generated editorial illustrations are not presented as photographs of a real event. Captions identify original editorial illustrations, and article facts must stand on cited evidence rather than the visual.

Financial, health and legal topics

Coverage of markets, commodities and digital assets should state uncertainty, distinguish current data from projections and avoid personalised recommendations. Medical and legal subjects require especially careful sourcing and should not be presented as individual professional advice.

Potential conflicts or commercial relationships relevant to a story should be disclosed. Sponsored material, if introduced, must be clearly labelled.
